If you do not want people to message you the current LinkedIn does go on default which you can switch off by doing the following: This helps when you know someone is online or not! When the green dot on your profile is full it means that person is active but when the green dot is empty that means that person is no longer active! It is so useful when needing to have a chat with someone and you want to message them as you can have a live conversation with them in your messages! On the Linkedin App on your mobile phone both on Andriod and IOS the active status is really useful and on your desktop messages.
